Inverter Testing

Inverter Testing

MET Labs is the rare lab that combines top-notch EMC and Product Safety experience and know-how to effectively and efficiently test renewable energy inverters for safety and anti-islanding requirements.

MET has supported multiple alternative energy initiatives. In the 1980s, MET was one of the first labs involved with renewable energy evaluation, by performing field inspections of wind generators for US Wind Power located at the Altamount Pass in Northern California. MET has also worked with the California Energy Commission, performing field inspections of solar panel installations.

MET is an experienced tester of inverters for solar panels, wind turbines, and other alternative energy harnessing equipment.

MET tests to these standards:

UL1741 – Inverters, Converters, Controllers and Interconnection System Equipment with Distributed Energy Resources

  • Anti-Islanding Testing to IEEE 1547.1

UL6140 – Outline of Investigation for Wind Turbine Generating Systems

UL6141 – Outline of Investigation for Wind Turbine Converters and Interconnection Systems Equipment

UL 458 & C22.2 No.107.1 Power Converters/Inverters for Land Vehicles & Marine Crafts

MET is also qualified to efficiency performance test grid-connected photovoltaic system inverters for the California Energy Commission.
